My fridge door keeps coming open!!

We made a ten day trip and had a great time with only minor problems. My refrigerator door keeps coming open when traveling. Talk about anoying! Mine has a 'set screw' above the door that tightens against a nylon pad on top of the door. We tightened this some and it appears to be some better. Anybody else had problems with this and any solutions?

John, there is an aftermarket clip to deal with this. It fits on the outside of the door. If you go into any large dealer in RVs you should find the catalogue from which the dealers order their parts. I'm told that there are only two or three main catalogues of this type. You should find the clip in any of these. I'm 4000 miles from my trailer and catalogue, so I can't be more specific. If you want a catalogue, and I find mine indespensible, you can buy one from Sanders RV of Alachua, FL, tel. 800 541 6439 and 386 462 3039 for a few dollars, or one is free with orders over about $30 or thereabouts. Someone on the forum may be able to look it up in the catalogue to give you more details. Good hunting. Nick.
