Hi , We have an original fridge in our 1962 Overlander and the guy we bought the trailer from said he didnt think it worked. How would we test this as it seems to be gas or and electric? If it doesnt work any tips on how to get it fixed? Its a great looking fridge so really want to keep it if possible. The door seal looks good and interiors clean and not cracked.
I've attached a service manual for vintage Dometic refrigerators. Your model fridge should be in this manual. The refrigerator in my '61 Overlander is a M50, gas only. Hope this helps, good luck.
Check out the back of the fridge through the access hatch on the outside and see if there is a 110 volt power cord plugged into the wall outlet and if there is a gas line running to it. There should also be a dial or knob to switch it to different power sources if it is a two-way fridge. What is your model number?
Good luck on getting the fridge working. These old ones are so cool.
