Greetings and looking for fridge install tips for '64 Safari?

Hi, I'm new here. I'm Dale, I have a 64 Safari I'm fixing up.

I thought I'd start off with a question.
I have a functional RM 2652 2-way fridge in an old SOB.
I want to put this in my Airstream. I want some sort of plan for the venting system, and would like some feedback, especially from do it yourself types that have approached this type of thing before.

I have a screen hole in my floor (obviously for fridge venting), I have a fiberglass chimney (its off now for some patches, but could be reattached. I have a vent already in my roof for a fridge.

The fridge I have has an exterior vent (on the outside) in my SOB. I was wondering if anyone has used the vintage chimney-setup on a modern fridge or do I have to cut a hole for a louvered vent?
Tips and suggestions welcome.
I have a ways to go before I'm to this part of my project, but want to start getting info now.

The old hole in the floor with chimney vent up through the roof is probably the best venting system ever use on Airstreams and is completely compatible with your newer refrigerator. Just be sure you use 1/4 inch hardware cloth on both the bottom opening through the belly pan, and the cut through the plywood floor. That is to keep the mice and critters out.

Fans are a great add-on

The successful and knowledgeable refer people seem to have good results using a few of those computer fans in square frames to make the system that chills the refers hit its max performance.

One or two inside the fridge part moving air around the fins, a couple more hanging under the large cooling coil on the outside back, pushing the warm air up, and Bob's your uncle: it's waaaay cool!

Hey, Dale, welcome! That original setup will work great! We just did that very thing with our 1971 Globetrotter. Installed a Dometic RM2551, using the original venting arrangement.

Great fridge performance, just be sure to seal the entire enclosure and vent "chimney" thoroughly to keep combustion gases out of the living space.

Hope you enjoy your Airstream adventure as much as we have!

No problem, I put a larger fridge in my '64 safari from a flat side donor. Had to shorten the fiberglass vent and redo the enclosure. I also found I needed to fab an air baffle for the floor air intake. The gas pilot would "blow out" on the road.
