Gas Thermostat Dometice RM66E

I need a source for a propane thermostat for a Dometic RM66e Refrigerator. The electric still works fine.

If you know of a source for old parts, I would like to hear from you.

The thermostat is connected to the control board and controls both electric and gas. If electric works I doubt it is the stat.

Does the gas light at all when set to gas? You may have to remove the panel around the burner to see if there is a flame.

I don't believe a refer of the 70's generation has a control board.
Can you post a pic?

Thanks for the questions and suggestions. The thermostat was changed in October, and worked thru November, and then began to freeze up. (I changed it because it did not cool.) Airstream and I have checked it, and the thermostat is not changing the flame. Light it, and it is on. Down to between 10 and 20 degrees Fahrenheit. So it is toast.

The RM66E is an old model. The Land yacht was built in 1978. The electric and gas thermostats are separate. It works on electric, which means the refrigerator is still good (kind of a miracle). but, not on gas.

I would like to have another thermostat. I have found one, which is described as an "after market." I am hoping it will work, but we will see.

A real "thermostat," like the electric thermostat, varies the cooling effect in response to temperature inside the fridge. Temp goes up, electric heaitng element comes on, fridge cools down.

The gas "thermostat" is actually just a vatiable flow gas valve. It's up to you to figure out if you need a higher or lower flame.
