Fridge repair or restore

hi all first post. just brought a 1954 22' safari. looking to do a body off restoration. the strip out has started with earnest we have removed the old floor. the lower internal panels. unfortunately the belly pan was quite bad (previous owner been driving over a mine field), so that has to go. lots of fun. Anyway one of my many question is about the fridge. i want to keep the origin al unit and have it converted into a three way uk (240v) speck modern unit. does anyone know the best way of doing this. I hope to post many photos as i go. thanks
