We are making replacement panels for my Dometic model RM2801. I bought it without the panels so I don't know how they were placed in the doors.
The metal strip around the door has a small indentation all of the way around. I am not sure if the panels fit into this and get glued into place... or do they slip all the way behing the whole metal strip? I will try to add a picture.
The frame is one continous piece... I thought of that but it is not removeable as far as I can tell... Is the panel made to slide behind the whole frame piece?

Either the top or bottom of the frame is removeable-all I have ever seen was on the top edge of the frame for both the freezer portion as well as the fridge portion. Look it over closely.

Mine has a flat trim panel-one that goes across the top of the bottom door and one that goes across the bottom of the top door. When those are removed, either panel can be changed. Your photo doesn't seem to show an opening in the frame.

It shows a decoration strip on both doors. One on the bottom of the top door and one on the top of the bottom door. Can you find / remove those?
Thanks for your help! That is the problem... I got the fridge without the decorative trim. It looks like I might be able to order them. I have no idea how old this fridge is. The PO of my Tradewind threw it in with the deal, because the original fridge was broken. This one works fine, I just know nothing about it. This has been very helpful and thanks again. Pam
Not a big problem. You can purchase flat aluminum strips from a hardware store to replace the missing pieces. Trim panels can be just about anything. Ifr you sue something really thin you may want to make a backing of melamine or sheet steel or aluminum. Best go take a look at a similar refer unit to see how it goes together. From time to time peoploe part out older units and you might get someone to give you the trim pieces.
