Electric heating element for Norcold Absorption Refrigerator
Help! I am new to the Forum and new to owning a vintage Airstream. It is a 1962 Tradewinds Land Yacht. I think the refrigerator is original, a Norcold Absorption 606EG. The gas works, but is a bit smelly. It is missing the electric heating coil. I would like to have both options. Telephone conversations with Norcold have not been helpful. Any ideas?
It is a slight gas smell, but not the acidic ammonia smell. My problem is the unit is a 606 and I can't find any information on size or product # for an electric coil. Norcold does not even list that model any more, but there is no question about the number - on refrigerator and in original literature. How do I find out what to get and where can I find it?
Are you sure of the model number. I find several in the 600 series and 2 that are 6o62 and 6063. If it turns out to be one of the 6000 the heater element is 300 watts. If in the 600 series the elements are all over the place.
