The gas/electric selector knob on my '79 Dometic RM100 has always been a bit stiff when turning to gas. It has gotten worse over the years to the point I am concerned I'll break the knob off.
When turning to gas I know it opens the valve on the back of the fridge. Is there a way to lubricate the valve without destroying the seal? What is the best way to do this and the proper lube to use?
Gas valves are generally Metal to Metal spring loaded tapered valves. You should be able to remove the plug of the valve and lube it. Off hand i do not know what to use as the lube so I would contact someone that works with gas and ask.
