Dometic RM 3804

I've searched but haven't found a similar problem discussed. We have a 92 Classic with a Dometic RM3804. The freezer compartment freezes well on either electric or propane. The temp in the refrig varies from about 40 to 80 degrees . What could be causing this? Any suggestions?
