Dometic Refrigerator Potential Recall

Forgive me if this has been discussed previously, but I didn't find it in a search. I think this probably affects our 2001, but I'll have to check the numbers:

NHTSA potential recall on Dometic 2-door refrigerators

It sounds like the 354W heating element is the problem, but as some posters there have learned, having the sticker that says 2.7A doesn't mean it isn't the bigger element that draws more.

Dang! Why couldn't you have said 1968 Dometic!?!?! Actually, my fridge works pretty well for 38 years young. Would like to upgrade, but will wait to see what happens with this one over time.

Had the recall fix on my 2006 Safari 25' Monday. The RV service manager told me it took .8 hours to fix it and they get paid for .4 hours by Dometic!

My past experience has shown me that factory warranty time is like that. That's why many places don't want to deal with warranty repairs (on anything), in many cases they take more time than they pay.
