Dometic Refrigerator Door Handle RM2820

The door handle spring broke and I need a source for a replacement spring. I have the Dometic RM2820 that is a 2010 vintage. Inside the handle is a torsion spring, not a pull spring like the older 1991 refrigerator had. If anyone has an idea where to get replacement springs let us know. I may call Dometic to see if they can send me out a couple springs. If they are anything like the Fantastic Vent company who sends out replacement parts for free I will be satisfied. If they expect me to pay for a new handle I will be less impressed.

I found a spring that will work in the door handle of the 2010 refrigerator. The handle has a Tortion spring held in place by the rod that the handle rotates with. I found a cabinet latch that had a spring just a little bit larger and drilled out the pivot pin, retrieved the spring and bent the spring arms tighter so that the door handle would be under tension like the original. This fix cost me 15 min and $0.98 to complete. No more $22 latches for me!
