Dometic: Is my flame out?

That thing is following the usual pattern of 3 days cold, 3 days room temperature....

I finally found the "flue"... it's a 3-ft long pipe in the back. I touched it and it's completely cold. I couldn't find a warm spot anywhere, not even the bottom. Does this mean my flame is out, and by going out is causing this warm problem?

This has been going on for a while, last year I had the freezer very cold and the fridge intermittently warm. This year everything alternates between cold/warm.

When operating properly, the round tube above the LP burner (flue tube) should be at about 120-130 degrees, as should the absorber coils (the down sloping section of tubing in the center above the large reservoir). If they are cold....you ain't got nuttin'!!

The refrigerant must me hot to operate correctly and cool your fridge. This means that the refrigerant must be heated either by the LP burner or by the electric element located in the burner tube. It is a silver rod sticking out of the tube about 8" above the bottom of the flue.

There are four little screws that hold my galvanized steel wind screen in place. Very quick job to remove. Makes it easy to monitor if you are having problems.

I can touch mine with the back of my fingers at the lower part of the tube and tell if the flame is lit without removing the wind screen.
