The rubber door seals to both the freezer and frig. doors to the original Dometic refrigerator are bad. ( 30 years have taken it's toll) I went to a local RV shop and the Dometic replacement seals were $200.00 ( Ouch ! ).
Has anybody tried your run of the mill refrigerator seals ?
I recently had to replace the door seals on my 1995 Dometic 3807 Refrigerator / Freezer. I compared prices at many places. The cheapest I found came to around $100 from Camping World. You will need to contact their technical department. They will get a part number direct from Dometic and quote you a price for your model. Camping World will have Dometic direct ship to you.
$100 is not cheap but it sure is better than $200 which others had quoted me. Some of these high quotes came from places that specialized in Dometic refrigeration parts.
It is an easy job to replace the seals. I only needed the refrigerator door seal but the seals sell as set for both doors.
Diesel, thanks for the info. I called Camping World and they are selling both the frezzer and frigerator gaskets for a total of $110.00 for the model # RM 75a. That's 1/2 the price of the next rv parts supplier.
Ya know, nobody told me that I needed to win the lottery in order to restore an older Airstream !!!!!!
