Dometic Fridge in '68 Overlander - easy to fix?

Thanks in advance for your skilled insight. (:

I'm looking to buy a '68 Overlander. Among other things, the fridge is not working. The propane components are rusted and while the electrical looks ok, the fridge still doesn't work. Unfortunately this is the best photo I have of it:

How would I go about testing it? I'm guessing next inspection I should bring a voltmeter with me to see if power is even reaching the unit (and if it's not? I'm hopeless with electrical). Any other ideas? Cautions?
