Dometic freezer door springs

I took the freezer door out of my RM 60a (single door) in order to take it apart and install a new door seal. Mission accomplished, except now HOW do I rewind the 2 door springs while getting the freezer door back in?

A few - or more than a few - must have done this....

Thanks in advance.
George

Hi George....we are in a similar situation...took freezer door off the refigerator in a 1979 Argosy to put new seal on and I broke the right insert...sooooo, for several weeks we have been trying to get a replacement part and it should be here on Mon....so after we try to put it back together, will let you know if we solve the rewind spring problem. How close are you to Dartmouth? My mom's family lives there...just love to visit...Thanks, bonnievast@gmail.com

hi...we purchased ours from PPL motors in Texas #713-988-5555...it took forever to get all the parts...I think they order them from another place..so will keep your resource for future use...
.I am typing this as per my husband's instructions...GOOD LUCK......."I removed the hinge from the right bottom of the freezer door by taking out the 2 bottom screws, leaving the right side spring assembly out...I then put left side spring assembly into the well leaving spring assembly with handle part pointed at me..I then placed door on assembly in vertical position.I then used a screwdriver and pushed clip up until tab locked while still holding door. Holding the door up, I placed the right side spring assembly into the well. I then twisted the door hinge about 1/2 turn to load the spring.....I then put the screws in.....
