Dometec RM3800 - Won't Start

Drat! My Dometec refer won't start this spring. It has panel lights working. It goes green for a few minutes, then blinking red. This occurs on 120v shore power, or 12 volt LP. Ocassionally the burner will try to ignite, but only flashes, no flame.

I have not hitched up or tried it with the tow vehicle alternator.

Does anyone have any ideas for trouble shooting? I wonder if the circut board went bad?

Gave Up, Bought New

I believe the circuit board went bad on my old RM3800. It was 27 years old and its time is up. I don't want to put any more time, effort or dollars in it.

So I purchased a new RM 2820 that Dometic says is a direct replacement. The old one is out, and the new one is in the living room of our Airstream.

I have a question. The installation instructions are quite adament about having a "baffle block" at the rear of the fridge for good drafting of the combustion process. They one 1" max clearance at the rear of the fridge for optimal performance. Airstreams have much more than 1".

Have any of you built an insert along the back wall so the fridge has nearly no air space behind it?

Your advice appreciated.

David
