I didn't read ALL the posts, but more than anything else, the opening and restocking, looking for what you want....etc. is what causes the most trouble. I have this system. Warm items (of the barley variety get a pre-cool in in on of those Coleman type electric coolers. and only those "pops" (and real soda) go in the fridge.
Then when you get one of the really cold ones out of the fridge, you must (and this is really important...) sit in the dinette or sofa and guard against the fridge content "shoppers"! Then, and only then, will you have solid ice cream!
