defrost refrigerator
We have a 1970 sovereign. Will the refrigerator stop working if it is not defrosted for a long time? The self defrosting does not work, so I have been manually defrosting it and didn't get to it for a long time. Thanks

Lucy's refrigerator stays powered (AC or LP) pretty much all the time. About 3 times a year we cut it off for a day or two and let it defrost. Usually the frost is fairly thick when we defrost it. I don't think that ours defrosts itself at all.

I didn't think any of them had any kind of self defrost.

The cooling performance does gradually diminish as frost accumulates but it shouldn't cause anything to fail.
