Can the pilot light on the Fridge be manually lite?
I have a 76 27' Overlander with a Fridge that will run on gas or elec. The problem is the igniter switch for the gas pilot light has rusted off. Can the pilot light be lite with a match. If it can where is it located. Any help will be appricated. -Eddie

Yes, open the access pannel, there is a cover that swings away for the flame, I Turn the gas on, Depress the plunger that you "pull" from the inside, while hilding a Match light stick thing in the area. Use caution to NOT allow too much gas to build up in there. Let go of the plunger after a few seconds, it should stay lit.

Manually lighting an old refrigerator
Do you have an RM100? On our old trailer (a 79 Ambassador), the plastic parts just started to die from old age, so I always lighted it with a match. I would use a screwdriver to wedge under the plunger on the gas valve until the thermocouple got hot enough to hold it open. Before lighting, I used to build a small aluminum foil tent above the burner and tap lightly on the cast iron chimney just above it. Usually a large amount of rust dust would pour down from the chimney. By doing this, it prevented a similar shower from putting out the flame when you least expect it.
Good luck!

That did Balrgn. Thanks a million. It's light now and I'm going to let it run for a while and see if the temp drops. I bought this AS last week and I'm still trying to get familure with it. Now it appears the only thing I can't get to work is the hot water heater. The pilot light will not light and I can't figure it out.

Nice!
Let it run at least 4 hours before you get concerned about getting cold. Place you hand in the freezer to check for "cold"
On my 77 Argosy I removed the burner assembly to find the pilot flow orifice blocked solid. At fist glance it looked to have no hole whatsoever.... Under a magnifying glass I found a tiny black spot, took a pin and worked the blockage free. Installed it back into the heater and adjusted the flow to the pilot, works like new!

I'll try that and see what happens. I tried turning the hot water heater to on and lighting the gas with a butan lighter while by passing the pilot light and no luck there either.

I typicaly "warm" up the pilot area and sending line for a minute or so, then press down the pilot plunger to let gas flow, if it does not light, I turn it to on, and light the flame. The pilot, if it not blocked, then lights and stays on.
G'd Luck
