A Brownish colored liquid keeps showing up in the back of my Frig? A week after I clean it, more shows up. I can live with it, but what to know the cause. Also where is the best place to buy a door gasket for a Norcold 774 EG2? Thanks, Don
I was just at a seminar held at the Region One Rally this weekend about absorption referigerators. The brown stain is probably a failing unit with leaking into the fridge.
I have a business card at home from the person holding the seminar. I'll try to email you the contact information this evening. You can then ask the professional.

that was an interesting demo that the guy put on....he came up with a neat gizmo for increasing the efficiency of a gas absorption fridge. sounds like a great idea for newer model trailers with the vents in the side wall that get covered up by an open entry door....
Is that big white thing the gizmo? Looks like a little fan in the bottom blowing up over the tubes, with the air directed by the white thing. Good idea! I'm always looking for ways to make my fridge work better.
yep. and it has a sensor on it that only turns the fan on when the unit is hot. (which it won't be, unless its "on"). So you don't have to remember to turn it on or off...and its inaudible, too. no noise at all.

I put one in mine. Two computer-type fans mounted on a frame. I placed them above the radiator-thing (note I'm getting very technical here - I don't seem to remmeber the exact words for anything all of a sudden) at the opening to the chimney to help create an updraft. But I think this gadget would work better and only use one fan. Also my fans are turned on manually (I forgot to turn them off after the last trip and totally drained my battery). I like the temperture switch idea to make them automatic.
I know of a number of people that have put fans in their absorption refer. None that were tied to the operation of the refer. That sounds neat!
Create a new thread and post the details.

Phoenix ~ Yeah it's hot however it's a dry heat!
Mean While Back at the Ranch--- It's me again --The Brown Stain in the Frig? Talking to a local RV tech. he said I should remove the fins and clean off the coils and check for leaks and rust. If I find leaks it's toast sooo new frig or remanufactured coils. I spent the day trying to find a new gasket for the door, but no Luck for a Norcold 774 EG2. I guess they no longer make the right gasket for this model. It looks like I have a boat anchor, but If it breaks down soon I can always use it as an Ice Box, and get a SBA loan and buy a new one next year!!! Thanks for the info, Don
