Adding new (to me) Dometic 2310

Silver Olive's PO installed a regular apartment sized refer. I've been using it ever since, with no issue. But, a year ago I picked up a small Dometic 2310 (2-way: propane/elect). The owner of the refer was using it on AC only as a garage beverage cooler. Said he'd never even tried the propane.

I pulled out the apartment refer from the Silver Olive last weekend and put the smaller one in the opening. I plugged it in to shore power and it cools fine. There is still a capped propane line in the opening.

1. Do I just thread the propane line to the refer and give it a go (to test functionality)?

2. I'm guessing I have some work to do with regard to properly venting it. It looks like the top vent has been cut (when fitting the large ac apartment unit). The metal mesh vent at the base was covered with alum plating but is now intact. I'd like to make a simple venting "box for immediate use .... and something more visually pleasing as I progress with the inside remodel.

Any suggestions are welcome!

Laura
