'67 Fridge Scoop Repair

I've searched the Forums high and low for the thread I saw a year or so ago for the repair of a cracked fridge scoop.
The person who posted had photos of a step by step process that they used to repair the edges where the rivets go thru.
I know it involved taping the pieces together b4 removing the rivets.
Then some screen and a special type of glue. Lots of sanding etc...
Does anyone else remember this post?? It would be a perfect cool weather project for me. Not to mention a huge savings if I can save the old one.
Thank you.
