I want to restore the original Krefft Refridgerator in my 56 Overlander. Does anyone know where to find the 110V heater attachment that was used on that Fridge. A picture or documentation would help as I may have to make one.
When I bought the trailer I hope I did not throw it away with the rest of the junk! I was careful but at that time I had no idea that there was such a thing.

Eric,
I just got my Kreft running on electric. I have used it as dry storage in my 58 Flying Cloud, for 5 years but wanted to fix it rather than buy a new refridgerator. The wire on the heating unit was broken and a couple insulator beads missing. I reparied the wire, crossed my fingers and plugged it in. BINGO. I have cooling.
I am working on the gas part now. I am looking for advice from members about the original style ignitor. It is the size of a flashlight blub with out the glass.
Anyway I have a photo of the electrical piece if you still need it. I am brand new to the forum so do not know if or how to post photos. If you need a photo I could email.

A picture would be great!
I am sure my Fridge is mostly original, if you need any pictures of the igniter I would be happy to send one.
I have not looked it much at it lately, I have been concentrating on the cabinets in the cold weather.
There is a manual on the internet somewhere if you don't have it already I'll send the URL.

I should be able to replicate that, I may use the heating element from an aquarium heater. I wonder how hot it gets? The information plate says 150w and the heater is the only thing that would be connected to 110v. That is a clue.
It would be better to have a replacement but I am sure they are very hard to find.

Here is a photo of my Krefft. I got it running on Electric and gas this week. I made a gas igniter from a BBQ.

Are you still looking for the Krefft igniter widget? I just removed the Krefft from a 1958 Traveller that I am fixing up (but not restoring). The Krefft is going to end up being yard art. After the fridge was removed was when I found the igniter on the deck below. The device tests ok.
