On my "old" Dometic refrigerator, AES RM663, I do not want the option of running on 12V (from the battery). Do I simply disconnect the 12V wires from the back of the fridge or will this upset the run light and/or the igniter.

Not sure about your particular setup but usually the 12v controls are connected separately from the 12v power to the element. So you could just disconnect it. How that affects AES I have no idea.

I think this should answer your question. It seems like disconnecting 12v to the IGN connection will suit your desire. IGN standing for ignition meant to only power the fridge when vehicle ignition was on.

Perfect. The link answered my question. And also answered the question I asked in another post about a mysterious switch next to the hitch which has wires going to the ING terminal.
