What does your safari weigh?

I finally got my ‘76 safari twin weighed on a short trip and was a little dismayed at how heavy my tongue weight seemed to be.

Based on what I can tell ready to camp my trailer weighed 4100lbs on the axles and 1080lbs on the tongue. That would mean my trailer weighed in at 5180lbs.

My manual says the trailer dry weight should have been around 3900lbs from the factory based on the options I have and a tongue weight of about 630lbs.

I’d like to think I’m a light packer and really didn’t think I could end up pushing over a 1K tongue weight.

I’m curious what other owner’s safari trailers weigh empty and ready to camp.

My 77 safari, double axle, twin weighs 3925 lbs dry, hitch weight is 615 lbs with propane tanks on and around half full. This was not empty, as in all the supplies that stay in trailer are in it. ie bedding, plates pots, small appliances etc.
