size specifications

Does anyone know how to find the actual size specifications for a 1979 23' safari? I can't find the dimensions listed anywhere. I need to know the height, width etc.

Hi atvmcg,

I am wondering the same thing for a '74. I need the width especially. I have been searching since yesterday all over the forum and the airstream corporate site for some info, but have found nothing but weight. I did read something from a Greman or Dutch site that stated the width as 2.4 meters
and the hight as 3.1 meters. I can't remember what year, but know it was a 70's. I don't know when dimensions on these changed either.

Sorry I can't help, but hopefully someone can point us both in the right direction.

I have that trailer and the owners manual and service manual for 1979. I will check when I get home and post what I find.

The 1979 Airstream Story Brochure says

outside floor width - 7'8"
outside height from the ground - 8'10"
inside height floor to ceiling - 6'7"
ground clearance - 16" to underbelly 12.24 inches to axle tube
recommended ball height -19.5"

Safari - ht wgt - 500#, total wt - 3905#

I don't have a 74 brochure but the 71 lists the same dimensions except ball height is 19"
weight for the 23 ' Twin Safari is 440# ht wt and 3530# total & the 23' Double at 445# ht wt and 3680# total wt.

There is a link to a chart that lists size and weight specs for lots of models - I've been looking for it to answer this post but can't put my hands on it. Can anyone help?

Thanks JBond!

I doubt they changed the width or something in between those years. Really appreciate the info. Now I can plan how to enlarge my back gate to fit!

Looks like everyone received the information they needed. Any more questions, and I will try to beat Herb to the answer.
