Safari Availability

Hello. I have been searching for an older Safari and wondered what is the actual chance of ever finding one in good condition. Any posts will be most appreciated.

I think it's very doable! Some good places to search:

1. the VAC classifieds online
2. other internet classifeds
3. local newspaper classifieds
4. drive around RV storage yards regularly, keeping an eye out for "For Sale" signs
5. get to know some of your local WBCCI members for word-of-mouth "finds"
6. ask about the owners if you see one that doesn't look like it has an owner
7. eBay

and finally, be prepared to act fast! The good ones go quickly...

We were very fortunate in finding our GlobeTrotter in a classified newspaper ad. It was located about 2 miles form our home and was the first one we looked at. We went to look at it and committed to buying it within an hour of seeing it...and never looked back! They will all need some work, just decide upfront what you think you can handle...then go for it!

Shari

P.S. Either that or get out the checkbook for one that's already been restored!

Safari Time

We bought our 1971 23' Safari after seeing it in an ad in Wheels and Deals. It was the first Airstream we had ever been in. Even got an equalizing hitch in the deal. Got it for 25 perecent less than it was advertised for. We were the first people to look at it. Others were on the way to see it. Ours is in good condition, just needed some cleaning and usual repairs. There are others out there, you just have to keep looking. Check all sources to establish a fair price to give.
Gook luck

Here's one

http://www.airstream.net/classifieds...l?cat=Trailers

For Sale: 1969 23' Safari
This little trailer is in excellent condition! The interior layout has two couch/full beds(recently recovered navy blue), side kitchen, and rear full bath. Woodwork is a natural light beech?. Their is a brand new 10g hot water heater and new pex water lines. Everything works(furnace, newer ac, range,fridge,12v/120v systems). The original owners manual and receipts are included. Exterior has very little "peeling" and is very shiny. The tires and brakes check out and have plenty of tread left. The bearings repacked and unit towed over 1000 miles recently! This trailer is a breeze to tow and fun to live in but the bills must be paid! Asking 6100.00 OBO email for pics

Hi Wade. Thanks for your reply. Your Safari sounds great. We have settled the del for the Sovereign so won't be buying anything else in the near future, but I really appreciate your post.
