My new 78 Safari 23 footer. All original except for the wood floor. Very well taken care of and ready to enjoy.

I was lucky enough to attend the ABQ restoration rally back in May and with the knowledge I gained from Zepplium and his window expertise, I decided to tackle my nasty bubbled window tint on the main windows
Lots of work but man does the trailer look so much better.
Here are some before and after pictures. The original tint on this window wasn't near as bad as some of the others. Not sure what in the world I'll do for the vista views and stack windows as far as window tint but I have some ideas that don't involve removing them.

Heh... so now you've run out of slots to list them all in your profile! Where are the interior photos?

I'm going to try NOT to catch up, but I acquired a new project yesterday.

No double-pane tint, but lots of cheap film to removed, and 2 plexiglass windows to get back to glass.

Yup you got me there.i might have to liquidate some trailers here pretty soon.

I did notice you were on a quest for a larger trailer and it looks like you found yourself another sweet Argosy. Congrats!

So here's some pics of the interior. Thanks for asking.

More pictures of my messed windows. I've been told by my local window tint pro there is an exterior tint available and I do believe ill give that a try on these particular windows.

And finally, how about a plethora of Byam hooks!

They're everywhere! Must be 15 of them.

Personally I'm a little iffy on those prints, but the chair itself is very 70s mod.

That looks like a great interior... very usable-original. Very nice.

I have to agree with you on the upholstery. The little lady of the house only allowed me to buy the trailer on the condition that all floral upholstery would be replaced ASAP! The upholstery's in great condition so i'll try to get by with covers as long as possible.
I wonder if the chair is original equipment or the PO was lucky enough to find it separately. It's cool chair.

I have seen very similar chairs in other 70s Airstreams with a floorplan that's conducive to having a loose side chair, so if it's not original it was either a popular option or someone saw an OE one and acquired it later. If it was added to the trailer I'm guessing it would have to have been done a long time ago, to get enough of THAT fabric to cover the chair!

Congrats on your new project. It is a nice looking trailer. Yeah the PO must have gotten a bulk discount on all those hooks I agree that the interior is very retro, and it should be covered at the least. I also am a big fan of the chair, I think it is cool, a nice look to it. My wife on the other hand says throw it all out and start from scratch. Oh well, sounds like she may be on the same page with your wife, other than your wife may let you get buy with covers for now. Let us know how the outside tint comes out on the windows, although you may have to wait a season or two to see how they really hold up to the sun.

Mike,
Yes, I dig the floral upholstery from the 70s. It reminds me of the couch we had in our house when I was a kid. Covering it is OK, but don't get rid of it! Keep it original!

I'm fortunate that the PO had slip covers made for the 2 gauchos, I'll have to see what I can get made for the chair which I do like quite a bit.
As far as the exterior tint,my expert tells me it should last a good 4-5 years and suggests I cover the windows when the trailers not in use to prolong the tint. We'll have to wait and see.
Thanks
Mike

Just had the stack and vista views windows tinted on the outside. Can't tell the difference.

That looks good, very modern. I'm sure it doesn't hurt your ability to cool the thing in El Paso, either!

I don't know that I would change a thing. Retro? Yes. 70's? Yes. In excellent condition? Yes. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! There is something to be said for leaving things all original, although it looks like the floor has been updated.
Great find!
