Got some work done today. Floor going in. Decided to forgo a water heater for the time being due budget so the patch will have to do. Removed front skins to get at some rotten floor and check on wiring. I really hate the pink stuff, makes me itch just looking at it.

Nice progress! A fresh look after all that work is a good feeling, helps to keep the motivation going!

So I have decided to drive 1400 miles round trip this weekend in order to pick up two original beds for my Safari from a twin that is being gutted. Everyone else I know thinks I am nuts but I know here in this safe place I will find people who understand. (I'm not nuts am I?)

No more than the rest of us. How did the trip go, did you get your twin beds? How about other salvagables, did they have anything that others might be interested in?

Off with the old and on with the new! Realized when I opened boxes I had ordered KH and original were Dexter ( or vice versa) but physics are the same so on they went. All rewired and...they didn't work! Apparently I wired my nine way wrong. oops another project for this week.

Well work has slowed but progress is still being made. I am taking her out for maiden voyage this weekend. I promised my daughter a year ago that we would camp in the Airstream by Fathers Day and so it will happen. Granted no real interior or plumbing but its rolling, exterior is sealed up, and windows are tinted.

We just bought our 1978 Airstream Safari in June 2019. I am very sure we have "bought off more than we can chew", but still determined.
I appreciated your pictures of your "project"....since your last post was June 2012, I would love to see pictures of your progress and finished project. I am learning from your experience, expecially the pictures.
Do you know if there is such a thing as a "plumbing diagram" for the 1978 Airstream Safari?
