No door plate; any other ser.# locations?

My '69 Safari II is missing it's ID plate near the door so in an effort to find a serial number somewhere I cleaned the area on the curbside of the trailer hitch tongue, which contains:

MARVEL 2
MC-970
PAT NO. 282393

Could this be a serial number for the trailer?

I don't know where else to look for one.

thanks

Nope. Thats the coupler information.

You should have a plate that looks like this:

If not, look inside the cupboards/closets for a warranty certificate. I've also seen the VIN numbers hand written (or stamped) on the back or underside pieces of the cabinetry, but not always.

Good luck trying to track it down ~

Shari

The information that you posted is for the hitch coupler. The VIN may be on the hitch, bear the area of the propane tanks. The format of that would look like this:

Quote:
Ohio | O(I) 23 T(D) 9 J NNN
California | O(I) 23 T(D) 9 S NNN
(O prefix for Landyacht options, I prefix for Int'l options)
(T=twin-bed layout, D=double-bed)

thanks for that codex, I just found the title which gives a VIN of:

O 23T 9J 103

and yes, it was Ohio made, 23 foot twin, that makes sense but..

I'd still like to find it on the trailer. still stripping paint off the tongue. thanks
