Hello Airstreamers.
My wife and I fell in love with this old classic and we got if for a good deal. Now I need to breathe life back into this beautiful 1970s classic. This is our first travel trailer that we have owned, so I am learning a lot, but there is so much more to go.
Electrical power:
When we purchased our AS we could not hook it up therefore we had no idea what worked and what didn't. I just put in a new
12V AGM battery and fired it up...
Lights, check. All work.
Control panel, check. It lights up. ANYONE KNOW HOW TO CALIBRATE THE BAROMETER AND HUMIDITY METER?
Water pump, check. Turned on, made some noise.
Fans, check. Old, but work.
Furnace, blower works. I did not know the thermostat was on, then I heard it click on.
Overall, seems to be working okay.
Propane power:
The line under the bottom of the AS is crushed. I will have to run new supply lines. I HAVE 2 ORIGINAL TANKS FOR SALE. RUSTED WITH OLD VALVES. STILL HAVE HAS IN THEM RIGHT NOW.
Job seems straightforward.
Demo:
We are changing up the interior layout so I removed all couches/beds/tables/carpet. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL BUTA THERM'X HEATER, NIGHT STAND W/ FOLDING TABLE, MAGIC CHEF OVEN/STOVE TOP, DOMETIC FRIG (INSIDE DOOR CRACKS, AND SEVERAL PLASTIC PULL OUT BINS FOR SALE. Again, no propane had been tested.
Now I would like to investigate a new 3 or 4 stage convertors and inverters. ANY SUGGESTIONS?
Also a new water pump, filter, frig, oven, solar, composting toilet, window covering, plumbing fixtures, brake/light plug, window seals, air conditioning, paint and flooring. Did I miss anything...
If you have any questions, suggestions, input, advice I would love to heard it. Thanks.
