Zion in November

I would love to hear of any experiences you all have had at Zion NP in November. My husband and I want to do a Thanksgiving week trip but are a little hesitant only because of the low temperatures. Any input would be appreciated.

I have gone to Zion the first week in November the past 4 years now. I try to get there for their annual Plein Air event. The weather is usually beautiful. Not too hot, like summer can be. It can get chilly at night, and it's possible to get a quick storm. Last year it rained off and on for two days, then it cleared up and was amazing.

I think you will find the park less crowded, cooler and completely enjoyable. You might still want to check out reservations for camping, only because they close down sections of the campgrounds in the fall and winter, so there are fewer total spots.

Just checked Watchman in rec.gov. Booked up solid to the end of November except for one or two sites for single night. Loop A closed on October 1 due to construction There is South Campground but no hook ups and first come first served. Better check out private campgrounds for plan B if you need hook ups.

Thanks Stan and Kelvin. Very helpful information. We booked a site at Watchman last week thinking it would be full if we waited but didn't know if we'd keep it. Going to keep it 😊.
