We make our own

This song was written on a road trip, and recorded in my trailer. I almost bought the canned ham in the video. A lot of people who saw the video wanted it as well. The video got hits from 32 countries and 48 states.

Sad for sure, I saw him live back in the day, before he re-located.
'Breeze' is one of our favorite albums.

"..BUT....Tom Waits is my hidden vice and secret musical hero.."

Funny you mention....ACL just re-broadcasted a 1979 performance last Friday, a one-of-a-kind artist for sure.
Did you catch it?

Sometimes I need a break from the monks......Girl of the North Country is a favourite. Tom Northcott was a big Vancouver name at one time. He now lives a reclusive life somewhere up the coast.

Recently have been listening to Handel's Messiah. Great driving music. Listened to it going to/from Harrison, AR last Saturday.

That's the version I had in growing up.

Recommend to you the Charles Mackarras first recording of (as it's known) the Mozart-Hiller edition of Messiah. Remastered around 1987 on Arkiv and features Edith Mathis and Peter Schreier.

Familiarity makes the changes that much more fascinating.

Enjoyed this music today while traveling down the freeway: Bill Frisell, "Pipeline", from his album, "Guitar in the Space Age", played by San Diego's Jazz 88.3 FM Station.

Back in the 80's when CD's were replacing LP's, this was one of my first searches for music on CD. Growing up, it was on the list of annual Christmas music that was played on the turntable of the Wards Airline stereo... similar to this one (I LOVE vacuum tube stereos!!):

On that same list was the Chipmonks, Dick Leibert, Arthur Fiedler, Nat King Cole, etc. Wasn't really Christmas until those albums were pulled out!

Sirius Radio: 99.69 Escape; good mix and mostly instrumental. NOT hard, heavy, rock. Just good easy listening.

Metallica is my all time favourite band which my wife and I have seen several times, as well as Ozzy and Black Label Society. But the last couple of years it been Volbeat ,Rancid and Against Me. Motorhead has its place on some road trips as well!
Just to throw a wrench at you , we went to the Drive-in a few years ago to see Mama Mia, and we were both singing along to all the Abba tunes!

Whatever I feel like listening to today. Below is a great site for making the choice. I hope it stays out there.
At 66, I am partial to the old stuff.
Sights, sounds, smells, memories pop into your mind when you first heard "That" one.

Music can change your world. Music could change the world. It's hard to argue while you're singing together.

Video Jukebox of songs from the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s with over 4,500 selections

Hard to pick out just one off this list, but here is a random selection:
