Yo, Seattle! Where to camp?

We're going to an event at Seattle Center and want to take the trailer, and camp somewhere not too terribly far away. We've ruled out Land Yacht Harbor as a little further than we'd like to drive. Any suggestions from those who know their way around up there?

trailer inns rv park in bellvue, easy on easy off, lots of facillities around. i think you will like it. ive stayed there several times.

distance is relative in the big city.....

travel time, not miles is how your location is best measured...in the city....

as in 'how far is the needle...'

"it's about 30 minutes" or "2 hours during rush hour"

in actual miles......the lacey park is pretty close in.....but south

you will need to scout a camp north....like lynnwood, edmonds or everett......

or along the i-5 corridor....

and still you will bog down near the needle.......

perhaps taking as long to park as get there.....

at least from the airstream park one could take the bus...downtown....

without the fuss of driving.....and the fee is the best....

there is a koa in kent...not much closer than lacey...

several parks north on i-5 corridor...

the closest....and coolest....but not the quickest....would be to take the ferry to bellingham and the rv park...then ride the ferry on foot to visit seattle....the bus is free downtown...or used to be...'free zone'

have you checked the woodall's directory.....lots of options....
how about courtsey parking with a wb'er....checked the book?

It's a weekend so rush hour driving won't be an issue, we'll have to get up bright and early to drive there anyway because we're exhibitors. We just don't want to get up at 5:30am and drive an hour and a half into Seattle if we can get closer. Mapquest shows Lacey being 1:20 away!

well... there's a koa in kent - but even the tent sits (you can park a TT in) are gonna run you 50 bucks a night..

or perhaps thats price of being so close to gary ridgway's work site...

Dang, $50 a night! That's worse than camping in California! I think I'll go price Best Westerns and think about leaving the trailer home.


I looked up campgrounds on google maps, and you can switch to sattellite view and check them out from overhead, which is kind of cool. Looks like it's a long way to most parks though. We're actually going to be at the Quest Field convention center or something, I'll have to go look it up. Sounds like a ballpark.

The baseball park and convention center are on the south end of town. They are next to the AMTRAK line, maybe there is a station close by and you could commute by train.

Steph, There's Saltwater State Park just south of DesMoins on Hwy 509. It's about half way between Tacoma and Seattle. Small spaces, but your Caravel will fit. Sound is just walking distance. Still quaite a drive to the stadium. Darol

Thanks guys. We have to drive because we need to have the van with us for refilling stock throughout the day (it's a comic book show and we'll have a booth for our toy business set up). After a day of hanging out with comic book geeks, I think we'll want to be able to retire to somewhere fairly close by

Yeah, looks like the closest one is in Des Moines. Trailers just aren't meant for big city trips...

I am not sure, it was back in BA (Before Airstream), but check the Snowsqualmy area on Highway 90, east of Seattle. The Highway takes you right in to the downtown area, and is usualy not to bad of a drive. 90 goes right past Mercer Island. Try this place http://home.earthlink.net/~issaquahrv/
