Yellowstone Road Closures

If anyone is headed to Yellowstone in the near future, we have some really annoying road closures. The road between West thumb and Old Faithful is closed for the season already and on the 14th, the road between Mammoth Hot Springs and Norris is closes as well.

Turns our "figure eight" road system into a backward "s". You still can get where you need but the distances will be greater than usual.

Glacier Going to the Sun Road is closed via Logan Pass as well ... weather is expected to moderate this week end; so check often.

My wife and I have been planning a 3 and 1/2 week trip to Yellowstone from San Diego and really appreciate the info and any other info anyone else might have. This changes or plans for sure. We had planned on driving up from the Tetons to old faithful and then...oh well, we'll figure it out... We always do. Thanks Mike?

Anyone know anything about the Dunraven Pass detour? We were thinking of towing through that area to exit via the East Gate (towards Cody, Wyoming).

Dunraven is towable but it will be slow and a bit tedious. No real steep grades but a lot of switchbacks. Not much choice since the Norris to Mammoth road closes tonight at 11 until Sept 30.

Thanks, this is our first trip with our new Flying Cloud 27FB and it has been very easy to maneuver. We prefer to take our time and enjoy the sights anyway.

Well we made it through Yellowstone (in the North Gate and out the East Gate) without seeing any construction... smooth sailing all the way. We look forward to returning in the coming years as there is no place quite like Yellowstone (and our NPS personnel are as nice as they come!)
