Great idea!

This is me at Chaco Canyon last summer, after having climbed to see the petroglyphs there....then, on my way down...backwards, of course....having gotten seriously off trail and finding myself on a vertical cliff over a very steep drop.

No one around, I climbed back up and out of it on my own.

This is me, triumphant and soaked in sweat, and the drop off below.

The drop off photo has not been reduced, so posted upside down....but you get the idea.

I had taken the IPad mini up there to take some pictures....so, a very rare selfie.

Maggie

No worries, Lum... with the burden of photographic evidence removed, it's just that much easier. Look forward to hearing from folks on the road.

p.s. - Contributing Member Rivet Master sounds impressive; someday I hope to evolve past a scorn-worthy1/2 Rivet Newbie Lurking Bottom-feeder (or whatever my current status actually is called.)

But, as to actual adventures with my Airstream, here is one when I was on Route 66, a very neat tour, especially when pulling..

How very flattering, Tommie...but at least I had makeup on.

Not so climbing rock walls in Chaco Canyon.

I also notice I had polished off the Jameson & Ginger that Greg had made for me.

While not as perilous as "boondocking in the Sierras", I recently had the bright idea of stopping at a pretty place on our way home from Capitol Reef to eat lunch. We thought Fishlake Nat'l Forest was the perfect place.

We should probably just stick to paved roads after this as we barely made it out without falling in the ruts and breaking something.

Not on the road yet but getting closer - today's task is to order 2 new axles for the AS.

If it's any consolation, Utah Man, I'm sure I am a Zero Rivet newbie, TOTAL lurker. But I have learned a lot from all that lurking. The axles get me that much closer :-)

We got to meet some desert dragons outside of Escalante. They are surprisingly tame. Must be the tourists.

Did the 8 mile Fairyland Loop at Bryce Canyon today, and all I got was a couple of lousy photos and a sweat-soaked hat.

Not too crowded (passed a couple of dozen hearty hikers, mostly Europeans) when you get off the rim, particularly this trail. Scenic and rugged, also rougher than the last time I hiked it due to flash flooding.

I missed hiking with Holly this time, as she's still recovering from a broken ankle.

Regards - Ron

Wow, Airstream Adventures... Feats, Photos and Fibs

Glacier National park, earlier this summer. The red busses lined up behind us. Don't they know we can't take the Airstream over the Going To The Sun Road.
Ron, I hope Holly has a speedy recovery.Click image for larger version
