WIX Filters

Has anyone had experience using WIX brand filters (air & oil) on your GM vehicle.

Thanks for the input,

They are one of the best!!! I am running one on my John Deere 950 tractor. NAPA Gold's are WIX.

I have used them for years; I dont know which brand is the "Best", but the Wix is a quality filter. I presently use the oil filters on my work boat for all the desiels...twin 12-71 detroit mains, twin 8-71 crane motors and twin 6-71 gen sets, also cartridge secondary fuel filters...the primarys are Racors.

I just replaced the oil in our MH for the first time and using a Wix filter there also. I wasent realy thinking about it...habbit I guess.

Ummm...Now that I am thinking about it... I think Im gonna check consumer digest or something and see if I can find a comparision.

In my opinion, if you stay away from a Fram filter, you are doing good.

Some folks report that the "Super Tech" brand of filters available at Wally World are excellent filters for $1.97 These filters are manufactured by Champion Labs, as are many other brands including STP and Bosch. Other excellent filters:

1. Hastings/Baldwin/Amsoil
2. Mobile 1
3. K&N
4. Wix
5. STP
6. Super Tech
7. Purolator

Your right Pick, these folks do not reccomend using the FRAM filters also, as interior construction is cardboard and prone to failure.

Here is a link to a web site with filter test info. http://minimopar.net/oilfilterstudy.html

A very informative site, Hope this helps.

At least for the Duramax Engine, the Wix Oil Filter p/n 57202 and Napa Gold filter p/n 7202 are both made by Dana Corp
