I made my second outing with the Ritz this month. Our destination was Ft. DeSoto Park near St. Petersburg, Florida. This county park is an excellent example of what can be done on the local level to preserve important seashore and still make it available to the public for a number of uses. The campsites are secluded with native shrubs and trees and the facilities are well maintained. The beach was rated as the number one beach in America in 2005. There is all kinds of protected water for kayaking. There are two fishing piers, a boat ramp and places to rent kayaks. The park is famous for its population of wading and shore birds, drawing bird lovers and photographers from all over the world.
Here are a few photos from the trip. To see more visit my blog in the travel blog section.
My wife and I have tent camped at Ft DeSoto for the past 3 years and we love it!
As a mater of fact, it was at DeSoto that I fell in love with Airstreams. We purchased ours on the way home from camping there!
Cant wait until we get a chance to introduce our new Airstream to Ft DeSoto.
