Whose Bowlus is in the shop at Jackson Center

I was in Jackson Center today to buy some parts that are too expensive to ship. Full stock lengths of curtain track and new aluminum wheels.

While waiting around I asked if I could go back in the repair shop and look around. To my surprise the answer was yes.

First thing inside the door was an antique Bowlus trailer. Never seen one in person before. While in need of restoration it was certainly in fine shape given its age. I didn't ask what it was in for.

Anyone here own that trailer? Maybe fill me in on the history of how you found it and your future plans for restoration.

This is Airstream's Bowlus. They are planning to restore it. It was parked next to another Bowlus at Alaumapalooza last year.

the company/service center actually OWNS 1.

or at least someone at the factory owns 1.

purchased last year, it was on display at 'palooza 1'...

along with a finely resorted version.

these are discussed on rich's site, as i recall and with photos too.

i think the plan was/is for a complete rebuild at some point,

but a/s often has things like this in the works for years and years before fruition.

all of the true things that i am about to tell you are shameless lies. l.b.j.

we are here on earth to fart around. don't let anybody tell you any different. k.v.

I thought Bowlus was a guy who worked in the shop.
Click on the link to see a picture of the Sioux River falls near my home.
Eastern South Dakota is very pretty with hills, rivers, and trees.
