Great picture
I could make some guesses but would probably result in many inappropriate responses from the community - you know, sensitive border issues and such! So my impression is that it is some where in the USA, not to near to any border and that it has no political or racial under or over tones.
Having said that, and not wanting to offend anyone concerned with what was the best truck in 1942 is that it is likely a Chevy and it was likely used to transport workers, not necessarily immigrant, to the fields to perform, not menial work, but important work requiring skills to put food on our tables.
If this response is in anyway offensive or has any unintentional political, religious, or racial associations, then do what ya gotta do. Some of us are - well - just stupid.

. . . that would be me (stupid).
actually it's just an old truck I saw on an old road somewhere between Sacramento and Phoenix . . . I believe closer to Phoenix than Sacramento . . . and it looked like it hadn't moved in years, and it looked like no one in the vicinity was going to be moving it soon.

Hi Mark
It is a great picture and I was venting some frustration from earlier posts. I did it here as I originated this thread. I'm sorry I blew out on your great picture.
Are you a photographer?

Ok, now for a really tough one. This one's a picture, but the picture's from a satellite. The location is in the Four Corners Unit area; I'm sure you've probably been there.

Most of these are fairly warm, but no cigars.
Next hint: "Navajo"

I camped in Navajo, AZ several years ago (Hands Across America). The only thing close to that area (besides snakes and rail road trains) is the Petrified Forest NP.

Wow, that'd be a tough one! I think it's best to leave some kind of landmarks in the image. (For me, the highways and their relationship to the canyon and the town was the giveaway on the Canyon de Chelly!)

Your right, but in order to show any highways in the photo I'd have to zoom out so far you would'nt be able to see any landmarks. Also, the highway numbers are shown in the hybrid version of the photo.
If you know the place well and look very close, there are a couple of landmarks.
Hint; think granite and waterfalls.
