WHALE TALES

Along the fields and mountains I came across these "Whale Tails" on Rt. 89 by or in Burlington.

Enduroryda and Mistral,

Yes, it's in front of the Barnes and Noble Bookstore, in Jack London Square. Oakland, CA

Who can guess this location

The photo below is of a local landmark that always reminded me that the 750 mile return trip from my hometown to the small town where I was teaching in the mid-1980s was nearly over.

This place along with many other unique roadside attractions can be found at:

Roadside America - Guide to Uniquely Odd Tourist Attractions

I often check the above site before starting my travels to see if I will be passing near an unusual or out-of-the-way roadside attraction.

If you're ever in the vicinity, come and say hi, I'm a two-minute drive away. My nephew fell into that fountain two or three times when he was a tyke.

Try this one! To me it seemed tucked out of the way. But, you might all know it. Kimili will, he seems to be the authority on these things! Lol!

BTW, my place of work is 5 minutes from Stonehenge. It's a very difficult subject to photograph well because the ground falls away in all directions. However, I managed to get into the site at sunset one night last May. The site is so precious I had to have a ground sheet under my step ladder. A dirty night ahead but it made for a dramatic picture!

Hi Happycampers,
I live in Romsey, which is 25miles SE of Stonehenge. You discover new things every day. I didn't know they made Argosys that big. It's either my IQ-Ignorance Quota or are they rare?
Here's another statue, it's quite close to the other...

Yakki Da to Sharon! Both my parents are from Abertillery. Pardon my spelling, south Wales is not a home for the native tongue - too many interlopers like my geordie grandfather on one side and my tin miner "grandcha" on the other! Wintering in Florida sounds good but the last time I was there (Jun'02) they had record rainfall:

In the morning I travelled down to Islamorada, 35c in the shade. In the afternoon I travelled back to Ft Lauderdale. When I got back I found I had third-degree burns on my left ear - in the sun all day!* Lol!
