White River - Fly Fishing & Campgrounds

We are new owners without experience. Planning to head up to the White River in Arkansas in October for our first trip. I lived in the Ozarks in the 80s and floated and fished all the trout mileage of the White as well as other rivers. I've seen websites and other info on campgrounds, but would appreciate any words on recent experience in the area, especially along the upper White below Bull Shoals.

I think it is called Bull Shoals state park. Locate Gaston's on a map and this park is just next to it upriver a very short distance. There is also a great Arkansas state park, relatively unknown, in the northeast area called Devil' s Den. J.

Oops....also: Norfork Lake, near Mountain Home, ark, has some nice parks right on the lake with launch facilities. A good one is just north of the hwy. 62 bridge on the west side of the lake. Fishing is very good there. J.
