Where we're Streamin'

We're taking 14 days (but I had to come back to work for 2) to head up Vancouver Island about 2 hours north of us. We're boondocking in a Provincial park. We're using it as a base and day-tripping.

My 7-year old Zach, his buddy and I are fly-fishing for pink salmon off the beaches everyday!!! My wife Kathi is resting and painting.

90 American degrees with a gentle ocean breeze.

It doesn't get much better than this.

Thumbs up Lucky boys

All kids should have experiences like these! What a wonderful gift you have given them. Those boys will remember this trip for the rest of their lives! Flyfishing for salmon! Sounds like heaven on earth!

Thanks Barb,

Actually my son Zach, pictured in my avatar has given me the gift. I never owned a fishing rod before he was born. We moved to an island when he was one and he has been fishing ever since. I took up flyfishing 2 years ago and my life hasn't been the same since We fish the lakes, rivers and oceans here on Vancouver Island all year long.

I love Vancouver Island!

I grew up in Oregon and when I was a kid, my family spent many summer vacations there. You are so lucky!

My husband has been flyfishing for around 30 years. It is truly an art. (I, on the otherhand am pretty good at bait casting, but haven't gotten past getting the water foaming - somewhat reminicent of a washing machine )
