Where to stay near Oasis RV

Hi all,
We're heading to Oasis RV on Tuesday to have them repair a shower leak and a rain leak.

Can they accommodate folks who are living in their RV's or do we need to find a campground?

If we need a campground, do you have any recommendations?

Oasis RV in Tucson, AZ?
I see people parked there hooked up to electricity while repairs are made to their rigs.
If camping there is not possible for some reason, Beaudry RV is a deluxe campground about 40 dollars a night, more or less, located within a few blocks.

Gilbert Ray is fairly close, just up the road from Old Tucson.

I'd stick with Oasis; their yard is huge and you could stay there. There is a outlaw c.g. on 86 heading west
that we have stayed at overnight many times; I think that's at the corner of Kinney Way & 86. on the right.

There's also Catalina State park just north of Tucson on Rt 77. 11570 N. Oracle RD, Tucson, AZ, (520) 628-5798.

Trouble with that park (which is great and we've stayed there many times) is it's a long way way from Osasis, and we all know we want to be first in line when the shop opens.

Thanks. What is an 'outlaw c.g.'?

It's a dirt parking lot right at the corner; we've seen lots of rigs stay there overnight.

There are several private RV parks in the area of Ajo Way (Rt 86) & Kinney Road or Ajo & San Joaquin Rd west of I-10 on Ajo Way. This area would be convenient to Oasis. We have never stayed at them but we hear about them often...here are a few of them:

Rincon Country Wes Resort: Rincon Country RV Resorts - Your RV Resort in Tucson, Arizona
Mission View RV Resort: Home Page
Adventure Bound/Tucson Cactus Country: http://www.abtucson.com/

More RV parks in the area are listed at Woodall's Directory ( RV Campgrounds, RV Camping, RV Rentals, RV Parks, RV Resorts - Woodalls ) and Trailer Life Directory ( RV Camping, RV Parks, RV Campgrounds & Travel Guides - Trailer Life Directory ).

We have stayed at Gilbert Ray Campground (mentioned by Richard above)...between Old Tucson and the Desert Museum west off Kinney Road on McCain Loop Road...it's run by Pima County and is very pleasant...we recommend it. Last time we were there it was $20/night for electric...water available but not at sites...and a dump station.

And there's Beaudry's RV Park as mentioned above...that is an RV sales and service place too, but I'd take your rig to Oasis for work...as they are an authorized AS repair center.

We know that Oasis will let you park in their grounds while work is being done. Oasis is not much to look at but they know their stuff. That's where we take our rig.

The outlaw campground on Ajo Way is BLM land. You can read more about it here in post number 2. http://www.airforums.com/forums/f382...ona-21558.html

Have never seen the RV facilities at the Pima County Fairgrounds, but here's a link: New Design (click on 'RV Facilities" at the top of the page)

It's quite a ways from Oasis...but not impossible.

Uh, yeah I would love to but unfortunately I'll be working. You asked if anyone wanted to, not if they could. Don't suppose you'll be in the Phoenix area on Tuesday?

I am full-timing and Oasis put their other work aside so they could get me back on the road. They let me stay overnight in their lot and in 24 hours they replaced brakes, shocks, water heater, furnace Thermostat, installed catalytic heater, and other work. I am so pleased!
