Where to stay in Columbia, MO?

Ok--so I got great advice about where to stay in KC. Now, anyone know where to stay in Columbia, MO? I'm countin' on you al!

Hello, Missy! Am I ever not observant...I grew up in Columbia and we live nearby, but I have paid NO attention to rv parks in the region, just would have no need to use them. However, we live @ 15 miles south of Columbia and we would be happy to give you courtesy parking here at our place. I wouldn't call us a "great campground," but you could plug into our 30 amp if you have a fairly long cord and we do have water! I don't know how many are in your party or if you have children. We have 3 cats and 2 dogs, including one 3 year old "pup" which is very active, and a half acre pond for fishing. We'd be happy to share our back porch and an evening brew while bird, star, and pond watching. You will meet Max and me and our son Steve as well as the pets. Perhaps someone else will chime in about campgrounds in the region too. ~G

it might be time to buy a woodall's or trailer life guide...

they are full of rv parks and ratings and now can be had on cd too...

the book shows 12 or more places to put an rv around columbia...

not counting the state parks nearby.

most of the rv places are NORTH of i70, while most of columbia is south of the big road.

as a college town, everything is pretty close in anyway.

i've stayed at cottonwood rv park (north on 63 ~ 2 miles) and another one just off the 1st i70 exit...

both were fine rv parks, full hook ups, laundry, swimming pool, cable and so on...

and both gave good sam discounts. rates were ~35$ last year.

there is also a walmart, BUT the one close in does NOT allow overnights...

and there are 4-5 'mobile home parks' that take rv'ers too.

there are some nice state park and 'resort' like parks close by too...

but columbia isn't on my favorite city/region lists, they aren't kind to jayhawks there...
