Where to stay in Cape Cod?

I was curious if anyone has a good recommendation for a campground in Cape Cod that allows pets.

We've stayed once a few years ago (during 9/11 - it was a "vacation" we'll never forget...) at a place called Atlantic Oaks.

Does anyone know of a great place to stay? One that doesn't have too many seasonals and isn't that far of a drive to the beach...

Thanks in advance!

There's a place down in Truro called Horton's. Have not stayed there, but Truro is awesome. There is also Nickerson State Park, which I think is in Plymouth (?).

I have heard good things about Sweetwater (they have on-site doggy day-care) and BayView.

I have NOT heard good things about Hortons...

Nickerson has some beautiful sites.

PM me and let me know exactly what you are looking for and I can help you.

Nickerson State Park

I believe that Nickerson State Park is in Brewster or Orleans. Plymouth is "off Cape" midway to Boston.

Stayed there years ago as a kid and later as an adult and it has great sites and wonderful clear fresh water lakes or "kettles".

Make your reservations early as this park books early. We used to make our reservations in January (they wouldn't accept them earlier than January 2nd) for July and August time slots.

It is approximately 20 - 25 minute drive to Nauset Beach.

We stayed at Atlantic Oaks. Nothing too special about the place- but they do have a lot of rules and extra charges. Nickerson is very nice- no hook ups.

I was getting geared up for Nickerson when I discovered there aren't any electrical sites - 2 weeks with 2 kids and a dog doesn't sound like a vacation to me if there's no electricity!

I've checked various reviews of BayView and Sweetwater and they both look quite nice - Thanks!

We always stay at Camper's Haven in Dennis, but no pets in season - we love it there - real beach/Cape Cod feel, read cozy (small sites). Also stayed at Atlantic Oaks, good central location, Wellfleet area (oyster festival 10/12-10/14) backs up to rail trail. If you want to go all the way out to P Town, stayed at Coastal Acres (has an alternative feel to it, check out their open season, I think it's short. Like to go to Nickerson to bike/swim, but don't really like the campground/facilities. Bourne Scenic campground is at the entrance to the Cape and is a very nice campground. We are always so busy seeing/doing that we spend very little time at the campsite.
