Go to the top of the web page here on the forums & go to the tab entitled "more". There are several links & one of them is camp ground reviews.
Thanks

My requests are, not next to Gatlinburg or Pigeon forge. I am looking for quiet, out of the way kind of place, at least water and electric, sewer would be good. Wooded with a stream makes it perfect. I do not need/want kids activities such as a Yogi bear/Koa. Where either Tenn/NC is no problem

I thought you were going to tell where and what was going on in the Smokies in 2016. lots of people have given you great information. High on my bucket list is to hike the Applation Trail that starts in North Georiga Mountains close (some what to Helen) so we moved our home camp ground to the base of Yanah Mountain just below Helen to use the trail there for training. While driving north on Ga 75 we saw what looked like an all Air Stream camp ground well up in the range and close to my first exit place on the trail. I am sure someone out there knows a lot more about this place. I am still restoring my wife's 1976 Land Yatch so it will be a while before I can go try the place my self. If any knows about this sight, please let us know. Yanah mountain has a very high rock wall near the top where the US Army trains mountain climbing in the East and is open to the puplic when they are not using it; if you are in for serious and safe rock wall climbing.

You may want to check out Tennessee Cumberland Plateau Campground. It's near Crossville, TN and my wife and I spent a few days there this year. They have hiking trails and it's $18 per night with full hookups. Everyone we met there was super nice and friendly. We drove to Pigeon Forge for a day trip and it took about 2 hours. TCPConline.com

If you do not mind primitive camping then I would suggest investigating Mile High Campground. Check their website.

Reporting in...we are at the KOA in Townsend, TN and it is really wonderful here. It's the quiet side of the Smoky's. The sites on the river are wonderful and none seem to be packed in. Great little restaurant down the street called the Trailhead Steakhouse. EXCELLENT steaks, shrimp, burgers, etc. You will not be disappointed but I definitely recommend making a reservation. it is small and not many tables (could fit more tables, but it's nice having your own space). They only serve beer but will allow you to bring your own bottle of wine. Cades Cove is about 7-8 miles away and a MUST see in the fall.

Another report: Checked into Cardinal Ridge RV park in Franklin, TN. Absolutely beautiful spot! 23 acres with only 6 sites (I think that's it anyway). Water/sewer/30&50 amp service. Beautiful! Free washer/dryer and kind owners/hosts.

I can highly recommend Cades Cove Campground within GSMNP. It's absolutely non-commercial.
