Where to camp near Nevada City, California?

My wife and I are working on putting together a camping family reunion for us along with our 4 kids and their various family groups. We will be 9 adults and 9 children ages from 4 to 16. We will have 3 to 4 travel trailers and we want to find some place where we can stay for the entire first week of August this summer. I might even be able to finish getting my 1973 31' Airstream ready for the trip but that is another issue. We would like to be as close to Nevada City, California as possible.

I would love to hear recommendations. I would also like to hear anything about the Scott's Flat Lake campground that is near Nevada City. We could even be open to boon docking on private land if someone has a workable solution for that.
