I believe the park is open year round, but campsites are day use only after October.

If your state has enhanced driver licenses a passport is not required to enter Canada or return to the US. We have crossed at multiple locations between the Pacific and Atlantic coasts without difficulty using our WA state enhanced driver's licenses.

Porteau Cove is quite scenic. Golden Ears Provincial Park is also open. It is in Maple Ridge. Google it. If you go to Vancouver Island a lot of the parks there are open. Ferry is expensive for a trailer. Before you were worried about snow if I recall correctly. We get snow but it is rarely on the ground for more than a couple of days. The Eastern end of the Fraser valley, Chilliwak area, can get cold temps with white outs. We do not get those even though we are close to each other. Our snow is very wet and heavy. We generally get temps around freezing over night so black ice is a concern. We hve lots of micro climates. Rainfall in greater Vancouver varies by 100 inches annuals from area to area.

heh, I forgot Brae Island, right across a short bridge from Fort Langley which has a cute little town with shops restaurants, etc. I've thought about staying a couple weeks there.

Yes, but we only had the regular driver's licenses. So we both went and filled out the paperwork for the enhanced one, but it won't come for a few weeks. We'll make use of it, and these suggestions, when we get it We love Vancouver and Victoria, had our honeymoon there, and have been there many times since, but not for a few years. Last time we were up there all we needed was a birth certificate, now we need these fancy chipped licenses.
