Angry Where is everyone???????

We have just finished a 3695 mile trip from Richmond, TX to Warren, Ohio to Kansas and back home.

We traveled Interstates
, US highways, state and county roads.

We traveled for 24 days....

and saw ONLY THREE fellow Airstreamers on the road.

Yes, it was hot on the road, but it is summertime.

We logged 5990 miles round trip from MD to MT and back. I would say we saw six or seven Airstreams the entire trip.

I saw one headed south going out of Altus...started to go follow them (like a groupie) and instead went on about my business.

Just did 3 weeks from NM to WA and back. Only saw a couple.

A couple of stops drew crowds. I remember a couple of years ago at Flaming Gorge I had a whole busload of Italian tourists run over to take pictures.

where is everyone?

California's northern coast. We recently went on five day 700 mile camping trip from Sacramento north to Fort Bragg then south along the coast to San Francisco then back home to Sac. and had the pleasure of counting 27 fellow streamers . 6 parked next to homes, 3 at storage facilities, 5 were heading south as we heading north, 10 were heading north as we were heading south, and 3 were heading west as we returned east to home. All of them seem to have been traveling alone.

on the road

short of the rally in May, In Whittington IL as we have traveled 20000 miles since April 1 we can count on two hands the number of silvers we have seen...that is less than 10.......we are alone on the roads and in the campgrounds

I've made several trips to the Northern part of Michigan and I have seen over a dozen AS. Maybe going North to try to escape the heat. Last weekend the temp dropped to the mid 40's overnight in Northern Michigan. Pretty hot right now however....Tim

Just got back from a 2500 mile trip, we counted only 2 on the road, 1 in a field in northern PA.

10,250 miles and maybe 10-12 except for the caravan we saw going north in British Columbia on the Alaska Hwy.

The others may be hiding at an undisclosed location.

Atlanta to Mammoth Cave and back a week ago. We didn't see any on the way up and only two headed North on our way back.

Airstreams seen

Hi from Ga. . . We went from Atl to Phoenix starting June 23rd, (via Monument Valley) and on to LA beaches and back. Nearly 6k miles and we saw 12 or 13 Airstreams. Enjoyed each one. Regards, Craig

Keep in mind that 'streams are about 1% of the market (if I remember correctly) so for every 99 SOB's ya pass, there should be 1 shiney aluminimum trailer...

We drove from Eugene, Oregon to Seattle on Friday, then back again on Sunday. We saw 13 airstreams, both new and vintage. Even a couple of beloved 16' bambis.

Apparently you all are hanging out in the pacific northwest.

You weren't near Lindsay this weekend were you? We took the A/S down to the the in-laws for a test run, and on the way home Sunday we stopped at in Lindsay, Ok to fill up. Someone went driving by waving like crazy.. granted it might not have been at us.. but we were the only ones in the parking lot at the time. They were certainly acting like groupies!

We saw one parked in someone's driveway on the way....

Recently I was on a trip out west. Left home 10 June spent 4 wks in E. Kansas and then headed west to New Mexico and Colorado for a few weeks. Came back through Nebraska and back into Kansas. Through Missouri to Ft. Leonard Wood. North into Iowa before finally heading home. I saw maybe 4 AS's the whole trip. I read these postings by all of you on the road but sure didn't see many of ya in my 6200 mile trip. Maybe your all hold up in a nice campground along the way. I didn't find many campgrounds nice enough that I would want to stay. After getting home for a week we took off again to the Adirondack Mtns. in New York for another week. I did see one AS heading northbound on the Northway. So, I guess you all are out there somewhere. Just not where we have been.

Keep traveling and ENJOY

We spent two weeks in Northern Minnesota, where there were lots of Airstreams, then this past week in NW Montana, where there are also lots of Airstreams!

For those who haven't been, this is one of the most beautiful areas of our country we have ever seen.

I just went on a 2000 mile round trip from Washington DC, through Ohio and up into Michigan...I saw ONE Airstream (waved and honked in the DC Metro area and that was it! Otherwise, of the approx 7000 miles I've logged since April I've only seen one other on the road or in a campground. But, if you look at those statistics of 1% of the trailers being Airstrea, I'd say that was about right!

We went 2100 miles from Austin, TX to Nashville, TN round trip. We saw a couple Airstreams on the road and there were 2 in the RV Park in Nashville while we were there. They seem to be a bit scarce when the temperature is around 100 every day. Last year in July, we were in Davis Mountains State Park near Fort Davis, TX and there were a total of 7 Airstreams in that park and it was not a rally but independent campers.
